Natural Parks and responsible tourism
Responsible Tourism is very much a buzz word today. Since the beginning we have
been committed to giving more to the places we visit than we take out.
We have worked closely with Natural Parks, respected their guidelines, helped with
their translations, and where possible we use locally-owned hotels, restaurants
and coaches. Our guides reflect these values and by way of example many of them
are involved in organic small holdings and farming.
Continued improvement
We always strive not only to develop new holidays and destinations but to continually
improve them as they evolve.
We are very grateful to all our guests who are kind enough to contact us whether
by phone, letter or email, with suggestions of how we can make our holidays even
better and where we might go in the future.
Now, as then, our philosophy is deeply rooted in our determination
to take you to the heart of the country we're visiting, to show you sights you never
imagined and to bring you into contact with local people and local ways – going
beyond the well-trodden tourist tracks in the company of like-minded travellers
with shared interests in painting, photography, walking and singing.
That's what we stand for.
Book an AA holiday and you will find out exactly what we mean.

No hidden costs
We do our very best to make clear on each holiday what is included. All transport
and entry fees are always included while lunch and wine are usually included but
do depend on the holiday.
Travelling alone
Our holidays are perfect for people travelling alone. Not only will you be cared
for by our guides, but you are sure to enjoy the bond created by the sharing of
common interests.
All our rooms in Grazalema and some on the Isles of Scilly are free of single supplements.
Staying a bit longer
There are some great cities in the regions we visit and it's very easy for you to
enjoy these as an extension to your holiday. If you would like some help with choosing
a hotel please ask.
Special requests
With leaders like ours you will be able to request almost anything. Certainly anniversary
flowers, early morning taxis to watch the dawn, recommendations for a day on your
own, bike hire or horse rides are all part of a day in the life of an Authentic
Adventures leader.
Great food and wine
The different countries we visit offer wide ranges of local specialities. We specifically
request dishes that are both local to the region and in season. Wherever possible,
wines are from local vineyards.
Special diets
Once our leaders and tutors are made aware of any special dietary needs, they will
always do their very best to ensure these are met.
Equipment
We send all guests equipment lists which are personalised by the different tutors.
Seasons
Our dates are chosen quite simply to ensure you see the locations at their very
best.

Choosing your holiday
This is never going to be easy with so much choice. However to help you, our office
staff know all the leaders and tutors and they regularly travel to our destinations
to ensure they get to know both our locations and our leaders.
Mixing activities
Many friends and couples find it hard to share holidays due to their differing interests
and objectives. We regularly offer weeks when different activities run at the same
time in the same location. Many groups of friends have come with us to new destinations
year after year to share these weeks. Discounts are available for non-participating
partners.
Tutors
All of our staff are hugely experienced, not only in their particular discipline
but also as group leaders and tutors across a wide range of abilities.
