Discover charming villages with their own quirks and character
In this relatively verdant land of gentle valleys, our paths go hand in hand with streams where kingfishers flash brilliantly through the dappled shadows, and bee eaters flit overhead.

Some of our days

Arrival day

Leaving Seville, we arrive in Alájar in time to explore this pretty village before a reviving dinner.

Around Alájar

From our hotel we gently climb the Sierra de Arturo enjoying the view of Alájar, pass through the hamlets of Los Madroñeros and El Calabacino, encircled with allotments and travel through woodland dappled with light and peppered with streams. On returning to the village, we join the locals for a well deserved beer in the square.

Meandering past mills

We follow a picturesque brook taking us through a dramatic gorge with wonderful rock formations, and passing a stream of abandoned old mills. Further along we may see the occasional fighting bull, hopefully from the other side of the fence!

Walking in Aracena

Up north

Today´s walk give us a chance to explore some of the paths and villages north of Alájar before dropping down to the beautiful village of Linares, well known for its citrus groves.

Free day

A great chance to visit Seville or the more easily accessible regional centre of Aracena.

Chestnuts forever

This walk takes us through wonderfully
varied landscapes to the village of Castaño del Robledo and back.We pass lush orchards, ascending to arid hilltops, along ancient Roman roads and through shady chestnut and cork oak forests.

Churros and cheerios

Starting with a snack of churros in the square of Alájar, we follow the old cobbled route through Santa Ana, La Corte and finally back home to Almonaster via Calabazares. This truly is a lovely farewell to the sierra.

Departure Day

After an early breakfast, we will transfer you back to Seville airport.
