Jaunts with gentians
We follow old mountain paths between villages, alongside springs of the purest water, flanked by blankets of wild flowers. Landscapes range from alpine to tropical with lush valleys rich with almonds, kiwi fruit, cherries and pomegranates.

Arrival day

Leaving Málaga we arrive in Mecina in time to explore this pretty village before a reviving dinner.

Busking it from Busquistar

A marvellous circular walk full of surprises, including a dramatic gorge, high meadows and slopes adorned with flowers and figs. A tapas lunch in the lost village of Castares.

High up in the Sierra Nevada

This dramatic day is spent high on the slopes of Sierra Nevada. We are joined by additional local guides whose knowledge of these high peaks is second to none.

Around the Tahá

A gentle first day linking many of the Tahá villages around the hotel. A lovely walk full of interest, rose-clad houses and iron-rich springs.

Free day

This is an unguided day on which most of our guests travel to visit Granada with its Alhambra Palace.

The highest village in Spain

Passing stands of oak and chestnut, our walk leads us high above the river and affords splendid views. We finish in Trevélez with time to explore this fascinating village.

Passing into the Poqueira

From Mecina, we climb past Pitres and enter the Poqueira gorge. From this fabulous vantage point we drop into the gorge passing through the villages of Capileira and Bubión before coming to rest in Pampaneira.

Departure day

We depart for Málaga airport after an early breakfast.
