Where we walk - click on a region
Authentic Adventures grew out of founder John Brough's love of searching out the rural heart of Spain on walking tours in Andalucia. This philosophy of getting deep into the core of each place we visit remains just as strong today, wherever we go. Andalucia in southern Spain was irrigated under Moorish rule and their influence can still be seen in the architecture of the white villages clinging to the craggy mountainous gorge. We step out into the Subbetica natural park and our walks circuit the mountain route, passing goat farms and olive groves and dropping into villages for refreshment. On our free day there is a chance to visit the city of Cordoba, a cultural contrast after the silent countryside and small mountain villages.
David the leader was excellent - full of enthusiasm and extremely helpful. We would certainly want to meet up with him leading another holiday.
WALKING HOLIDAY
SPAIN - 2008 Lanzarote offers a strikingly different landscape born of volcanic upheaval in past centuries. The landscape of black and red sand is as strange as it is beautiful. We walk through lava fields to volcanic craters, and visit vineyards, salt plains, lava caves and walkways carved by an artist in the lava. A constant, wherever we go, is the warmth and hospitality of our Spanish hosts and their pleasure in sharing their region with us. |
