Guided walking holidays in Spain

Our walking holidays in Spain travel to Aracena, Andalucia and La Gomera, Canary Islands

Spain is a vast country with plenty of opportunities for fabulous walking holidays.
Authentic Adventures started life providing walking holidays in Andalucia, Spain. It’s a region we know well and still love. Our walking holiday in Andalucia is well off the beaten track and takes place in the region of Aracena, in the west of Andalucia. Unusually for Andalucia it’s not brilliant white villages with limestone backdrops but stone-built villages nestling in gentle Oak and Chestnut covered hills.

By way of a complete contrast our other walking holiday in Spain is on the island of La Gomera in the Canary Islands - a small, lesser known volcanic island, a ferry ride from Tenerife. We like to take you to 'special' unexplored places, and La Gomera is a beautiful island with fantastic walking, high peaks and incredible views. Enjoy the sun sinking into the Atlantic Ocean, fascinating local history, great walks and fantastic food.

As ever on our walking holidays you will be led by local English speaking guides who know every step of the walks.
Enjoying the beach on this walking holiday in La Gomera, Spain
Enjoy a one hour boat ride to La Gomera and go for a swim on arrival. We are staying at stunning beachfront Hotel Playa Calera with amazing views.
Delight in the knowledge and experience of our walking holiday guide Enekoiz. Enekoiz grew up on Tenerife and as a child spent every summer playing in and exploring the island.
We will follow trails through wooded valleys of pine trees and palms, admiring exotic plants such as agaves, fig and almond trees. We ascend stunning peaks with breath taking views of the sea below, past waterfalls, terraces and vineyards.
Walking along the beach at sunrise or sunset is a treat and the rooftop terrace and pool of the hotel is lovely place to relax after a day of walking. We enjoy delicious local meals on most nights in local restaurants.
The village of Alajar where we base our walking holidays in Andalucia, Spain
Explore the length and breadth of the Sierra de Aracena, and discover the charming villages along the way.
Your guide, Peter, has lived and walked in the region for seventeen years – his knowledge of the history and culture is inspirational.
We gently climb the Sierra de Arturo enjoying the view of Alájar, pass through the hamlets of Los Madroñeros and El Calabacino.
A free day on the walking holiday gives guests the chance to explore the capital city of Andalucia, Seville, with streets lined with orange trees.
More than just a walking holiday, you’ll discover the famed Iberico pigs devouring the acorns in the cork oak woods, the ancient way of cutting cork and of course the chestnut sellers
