Limestone, lakes and lovely Lustica
A typical itinerary on this walking holiday in Montenegro
Leaving Dubrovnik we arrive in Kotor in time to explore the old streets before dinner.
The path to Perast
From the village of Orahovac, we follow a zig-zag trail through the woods to a deserted village called Stepen. Our walk up to the ruins of Vranovo Brdo fortress, provides breath-taking views from where an old path leads to the Venetian town of Perast.
The Vrmac Peninsular
A lovely ridge walk from Kotor with fabulous views of the bay. We stop in the almost abandoned village of Gornja Stoliv before descending to the coast and enjoying our return to Kotor by boat.
Lovely Lake Vardar
Lake Vardar is an extraordinary setting for our day of walking, boat ride and farm visit. This region represents one of the most hidden and authentic corners of Montenegro.
Taking a rest on this walking holiday enjoy the chance for further exploration of ancient Kotor, some swimming, perhaps a little shopping, a boat trip to the islands off Perast or an excursion to ancient Budva.
Distant Sveti Stefan
Starting high above Budva we follow a panoramic path via an old church, the village of Celobrdo and the Praskvica Monastery before continuing to the island of Sveti Stefan – a fishermen’s settlement transformed into a luxurious hotel.
The Tastes of Lustica
Beautiful walking along the Lustica peninsular from Radovici to Mrkovi via old military paths. We finish the day in an ancient olive mill where we learn how to taste olive oil and enjoy the tastes of products such as olives, cheese in olive oil, prosciutto, wine, brandy, honey, and pomegranate juice.
We depart early for Dubrovnik airport.
