Discovering the Five Lands
A typical itinerary on this walking holiday in Cinque Terre
Our hotel, at Monterosso, is a short hop from Pisa airport. There's time to enjoy the view, take a dip or head off and explore.
The Lover's Path
A short train ride brings us to the famous Via dell’Amore. We cross vineyards and fields hanging between rugged mountains and cerulean sea. We return home by train.
Costa del Semaforo
We’ll let the train take the strain –all the way to Levanto. We pass a castle and follow a picturesque ancient path, cut into the edge of the cliff, enjoying panoramic views along the way.
Porto Venere – Riomaggiore
We sail to Porto Venere for a town tour, taking in its fine old churches and Genovese castle. We follow the sea to Riomaggiore and descend to the train station.
Pilgrims and Sanctuaries
A short train ride, then we climb to the Madonna di Reggio Sanctuary. A woodland walk brings us to a second ancient sanctuary, before descending to Monterosso along an ancient pilgrims' path.
A chance to relax and perhaps visit Portofino or Genoa by train.
The Blue Trail
We follow the ancient Sentiero Azzuro path, via terraced vineyards, olive groves and fishing villages, to Vernazza. We return by boat or train
After breakfast, we return to Pisa airport.
