Later we visit the Profitias Ilias Monastery, stop off for a wine-tasting and finish on the beach. A winding by-wayStarting from Thira, we walk through the small-whitewashed houses and the narrow winding alleys to Imerovigli. Beyond, the vista opens to give us breathtaking views of the islands of Nea Kameni, Palea Kameni and Thirasia.

Castles Graves and FossilsWalking along the spectacular cliffs of the northern part of the caldera we visit of the remains of a Venetian castle on the Skaros promontory passing tuff rings, ancient graves and fossil stromatolites. The day ends in the picturesque, famous town of Oia. To the islands by boatWe take a boat to the island of Nea Kameni to explore the volcano. We continue to Palea Kameni, where we can swim at the hot springs and then on to the island of Thirasia.
