Songs beneath the high sierra After a break of several years, we return Mecina Fondales and the warm hospitality of Victor. A very pretty village full of roses, mountain views and a music bar - an ideal base for our week of song and adventure. This the heart of Driving Over Lemons country.
A typical itinerary on this Acapella singing holiday in Andalucia
Meeting at Malaga airport we transfer to Mecina Fondales in time a wonder around the village before dinner.
On this acapella singing holiday in the Alpujarras we spend most mornings singing in the hotel and as ever we plan to join with a local choir.
We have three planned half-day adventures. One afternoon we enjoy a walk along the contours to the pretty village of Ferreirola with its iron-rich drinking fountain and on another we follow the river valley out of Trevelez, picnicking along the way. Our final adventure is a trip to a fabulous winery in the hills of the Contraviesa with tastings, lunch and song. Two afternoons are left free to relax and enjoy the pool and village. Guy can also offer optional voice coaching each afternoon.
A chance to enjoy the relaxing surroundings of the hotel, walk down to the river (though it’s steep back up) or visit Granada and the wonderful Alhambra Palace.
We depart early for Malaga airport.
Where we stay on this Acapella Singing Holiday in the Alpujarras
Albergue de Mecina Fondales
With much Moorish influence, this extremely attractive and comfortable hotel lies at the heart of the Taha. The twenty one rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, are extremely spacious and house a fridge, colour television, telephone and lovely views of the countryside. There is an airy dining room, bar and lovely pool. Victor’s hospitality is remembered by all and we are fortunate to have such an old friendship, having taken groups here twenty years ago.
