Scotland • The Highlands
Highland highlights Some of our daysArrival dayWe gather late in the afternoon for a relaxed discussion of the week's itinerary. There will be time to answer technical questions and make sure everyone's cameras are set up correctly. After dinner the tutor will show a selection of his work and talk through some of the techniques to be employed during the week. Spectacular autumnal viewsAfter an early breakfast it's off to Loch Tummel to capture the golden autumn foliage, hopefully reflected in the still waters of the loch.We will pass some of Perthshire’s most spectacular scenery on our way through Glen Lyon to Loch Tay. Dramatic waterfallsWith many of Scotland's rivers in spate this is the ideal time to capture dramatic waterfalls surrounded by colourful foliage. We will visit several falls in the area. Transfer dayWe leave at dawn and travel slowly west through inspiring Highland scenery, with stops en-route to arrive at our next base near Glencoe well in time for sunset. Wild Highland landscapesUp before dawn to capture sunrise over the wild and remote Rannoch Moor. Later we explore Glencoe, ending up at Loch Etive in time for sunset. The evening will be spent reviewing images. Coast and CastlesAnother early start beginning with the atmospheric ruins of Kilchurn Castle and the tumbling waters of the River Orchy. The afternoon takes us through Glencoe and along the coast to Castle Stalker. Transfer dayAfter another dawn shoot we will enjoy a leisurely trip back to Pitlochry, again stopping at various photogenic locations. In the evening we round off the week with a final review of our images. Departure dayTime for a final early morning shoot before breakfast followed by departure.
Note: This is a selection of the many options available. Weather
