Arrival day

Leaving Málaga we arrive in Mecina in time to explore this pretty village before a reviving dinner.

Photos in Fondales

We spend the morning in Fondales, a pretty village full of postcard-type shots, a perfect introduction to the Alpujarras. After lunch we have one-to-one tutorials and enjoy the pool. Before dinner your tutor gives a slide show of their own travel photography.

Up high in Cañar

A day around the high mountain village of Cañar – where elderly men play dominoes and ladies dressed in black nip in and out of doorways. Later we follow a wonderful high but fairly flat mountain path with distant views across the valley to the Sierra Nevada.

Unless you've had enough of the viewfinder, Granada and the Alhambra Palace is about as good as it gets for city photography.

Up and down the Poqueira

Returning to the top of the Poqueira, we explore the myriad of flowered back streets of Capileira before descending the gorge to Bubión with spectacular shots of houses clinging to the gorge and a great Moroccan café.

Back to your favourite haunts

We spend the morning returning to our favourite locations before driving high into the mountains for a look at some big landscapes. In the evening, over drinks, we shall reflect on the images, memories and learning of the week.

Peeping into Pampaneira

In the throat of the Poqueira gorge lies Pampaneira where there is a vitality to the labyrinth of narrow streets adorned with rag rugs. After a tapas lunch we return to the hotel to complete the oneto- one tutorials. As the shadows lengthen we will walk through the fields to the nearby village of Ferreirola.
