While the rugged landscapes of the Highlands make for spectacular images in bright sunshine, it's the ever-changing weather that is likely to give you the best chance to capture pictures that you'll truly be proud of - mist, rain, scudding clouds and snow-capped peaks are part of life in the Highlands all the year round.

Misty mornings and mountain scenery, bleak moors and ancient forests, castles (both ruined and occupied), mighty salmon rivers, waterfalls, magnificent wildlife, and relics everywhere of the proud and bloody history of Scotland - all make for a taste of the Highlands at their beautiful and fascinating best.
