A picture of natural beauty Some of our daysArrival dayLeaving Rome we arrive in Barrea in time for a short walk to get to know the local area before dinner. In and around BarreaA day within the medieval village of Barrea and above it, with its great views of the lake and Sangro valley. Moving waterThe area of La Camosciara with its mountain amphitheatre, streams and waterfalls, provides the perfect opportunity to creatively capture the movement of the water.
History in the ParkThe picturesque village of Civitella Alfedena is set between two mountains and the lake. As well as the main church and palaces there is the opportunity for candid people photography. On the way back we visit the scenic, high-plateau village of Opi, renowned for its medieval and baroque architecture. Free dayA chance to relax, walk or cycle around the lake. SulmonaVisit Sulmona, the major town of the area. Photograph in the ancient beech woodland of Sant Antonio and the beautiful mountain village of Pescocostanzo. Mazes and memoriesThe spectacular Godi Pass is followed by the photogenic town of Scanno, famous for its craftwork, with its maze of medieval alleyways, steps and balconies. The nearby heart shaped lake will, with luck, offer us a memorable reflection. Departure dayWe depart for Rome airport after an early breakfast.
