Montenegro • The Bay of KotorPainting & Walking Holiday
Slide show with 3 images
Venetian buildings line stone waterfronts, remote mountain villages burst with charm and natural beauty manifests in the magnificent Lake Vardar. Picture perfect landscapes provide an idyllic setting in which to paint.
Day 1 - Arrival day
Upon arrival in Dubrovnik, we then depart for Kotor where we have dinner.
Day 2 - Coastal Kotor
We capture the beautiful churches, charming lanes and stunning waterfront scenes today in the walled Venetian town of Kotor. This town bridges the gap between dramatically historic and vibrantly modern, and is simply glorious.
Day 3 - Village beauty
Today we follow the Vrmac peninsula to the pretty village of Stoliv. After a stop here, we continue inland to the peaceful area of Gornja Lastva with its small church and quaint lanes shaded by mulberry trees.
Day 4 - Lovely Lake Vardar
Climbing high into the mountains, we reach the unique Lake Vardar with its ancient fishing customs. The waterfronts and boats here make for marvellous subjects and we are treated to a relaxing trip on the water.
Day 5 - Free day
Explore this area at leisure today. Walk around ancient Kotor, go for a swim or do a little shopping. Perhaps you might like to take an excursion to nearby Budva, a town in Montenegro known for its idyllic beaches and atmospheric Old Town.
Day 6 - Picture perfect Perast
Our excursion today is by boat to the picturesque Gospa od Skrpjela, which is also known as Our Lady of the Rocks. An artificial island with a small church, which boasts an impressive interior. We paint the church, the lovely jetty and views back across the shimmering seas to Perast.
Day 7 - Departure day
We have an early departure this morning, where we depart for our flights home.
