The Channel Islands may be a part of Britain, but they are secluded enough to feel a world away. On this trip, walkers enjoy a variety of guided trails around Sark and Guernsey, while painters revel in the lushness these islands offer.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival day

Arriving in Guernsey, we transfer to our hotel. The painters begin with a session in the hotel’s gardens, while the walkers set off for a tour of Saint Peter Port.

Day 2 - Forts and walks

This morning we head to Castle Cornet, a striking 13th century fort. Painters set up their canvases in the grounds, while walkers take a guided 2-hour stroll to the south-east tip of the island. Later, we all walk to Victor Hugo's Hauteville House.

Day 3 - To Sark

This morning we take the ferry to Sark. The walkers enjoy a route from the pier to the peninsula of Little Sark. They continue to the island’s eastern lighthouse. The painters venture to the gardens of La Seigneurie, for a day of painting

Day 4 - Painting Candie Gardens

For the walkers today is free to be spent at leisure. For the painters, the morning involves a painting trip to Candie Gardens, an award-winning site admired for its fine views and restored Victorian styling. The afternoon is then free for them too.

Day 5 - The great outdoors

Painters make their way to Bordeaux Harbour. The walkers enter the open nature reserve of L’Ancresse Common, walking from here to the 19th-century Fort Doyle, and then on to the marina, where the entire group reconvenes to eat.

Day 6 - South Coast Cliffs

The South Coast Cliffs this morning – a picturesque spot to be painted and walked. Later the painters prepare for a showcase of their own work this evening, the walkers enjoy free time. The exhibition is followed by dinner and drinks.

Day 7 - Departure day

After polishing off our breakfast, we transfer to the airport and fly home
