Where we paint - click on a country
People come on our painting holidays for a relaxed and enjoyable artistic adventure, and many return year after year to seek out new subjects and new locations. Last year we painted in three new settings: Volcanic Sicily, Idyllic Santorini and the beautiful island of Gozo, in addition to returning to our roots in Subbetica, Spain. For 2012 we have selected three new destinations including the Caribbean Island of Cuba, the unspoilt Greek island of Ithaca and Arecena, Spain. Selecting your holidayNot only do our tutors offer different styles, but the regions provide very different landscapes. If you feel that you need to know more about the locations, our office staff are here to help and our tutors can be contacted by phone. Note: Some locations are hilly or involve boat trips, so please check the painting conditions on the itinerary pages and if in doubt call the office. EquipmentWe supply chairs and boards in almost all locations. We send all guests equipment lists which are personalised by the different tutors. What if it rains?Rain is rare in our locations and we choose the dates carefully. However should it arrive, we have excellent facilities for working indoors. Don't forget that rain and its aftermath can offer some of the most inspiring skies and landscapes to the artist.
What's new Friends & partners You are very welcome to join us and increasingly partners come to enjoy the locations and meet up at the end of the day.We often have walking or photography holidays running at the same time. How the holidays work Before departure your tutor will phone to ensure that they are fully aware of your hopes, aspirations and any concerns you may have.To ensure you experience the region to the full we provide minibuses. On most evenings we have slide shows, demonstrations or personal tutorials. Our tutorsAll our tutors are professional painters, working in a range of media. More importantly they are friendly, patient and encouraging in helping you develop your techniques, whatever your level of experience. They are totally committed, teaching for 6-8 hours per day with free time in the afternoons, although you may take as many breaks as you wish.To enable you to judge our tutors and decide who might suit you, we include several examples of their work. If it would help to talk to a specific tutor before booking, we are happy to give you their contact details. Local support staffOur local tour managers with their indepth local knowledge are with our groups throughout the day. By liaising with the hotel, driving minibuses and helping guests, tutors are left to concentrate on tutoring.Their local knowledge enables them to find new restaurants and festivals and leads us into various spontaneous events. Experienced painters Many guests enjoy the organisation and company of our holidays, while operating independently of our tutors. |
