Tour managers

Meet our tour managers

We've built our reputation largely on the quality of our guides – so you'll be pleased to know that as we go forward with Authentic Adventures in new places, the line-up of local guides is stronger than ever.
Stefano Spinetti

Stefano Spinetti

Stefano grew up in the mountains of Abruzzo in central Italy. With a degree in zoology and a good knowledge of archaeology, he has over 20 years experience as a mountain leader. His explorer's spirit has taken him to every continent. He loves to share his country's culture, history and natural places with our guests.

Clive Jarman

Clive Jarman

An original founder of the business, Clive first visited Andalucia in 1997. It was love at first sight when he saw the white washed villages in the mountains and shortly afterwards he decided to move there. He now divides his time between caring for our guests and and teaching English to the business community in Córdoba.

Riccardo Giordano

Riccardo Giordano

Riccardo is a true adventurer. His love and knowledge of the wild developed from an early age. For the past 10 years he has led walking trips throughout Italy and in many African countries. A keen canoeist and kayak instructor, Riccardo alternates his passion for walking with paddling in the rivers and lakes of Italy.

Cristiano Pignataro

Cristiano Pignataro

Cristiano grew up in Fiano, in the countryside near Rome. A lover of the outdoors, he received degrees in Earth Education and Nature. The desire to travel and spend his days outside led him to Authentic Adventures. He interprets the language, local history, geology and culture for our guests as he leads his trips in Italy.

Ruggero Ricci

Ruggero Ricci

After many years travelling the world both as an anthropologist and walking guide, Ruggero made his home in Barrea, Italy. He runs a guesthouse in these wild mountains and guides people in this fabulous region. He is proud of the area and loves to share his knowledge about nature, wildlife and local culture.

Ronnie Channer

Ronnie Channer

Ronnie is a retired Lt Col who moved to Malta in 2000 where he ran painting holidays in Malta and Gozo, with Jeni Caruana. They know all the best views and places in Gozo to paint. A keen artist who maintains his 400-year old farmhouse, tills his garden and enjoys a life meeting and painting with other artists. He likes to see his organisation benefitting others.

The best tour managers are few and far between. They must have a deep knowledge about the region they represent, be well organised, know how to make sure transport is timely & reliable and ensure hotels provide superb menus to suit all our clients' tastes.
Additionally, they must love what they do, must care deeply about the people they look after and be eager to share with them the magic and beauty of the places where they live.
After all, it's our guides who carry the keys to the doorways into the new worlds which make our holidays thrilling adventures into other cultures.

Andrew Goldsworthy

Andrew Goldsworthy

At the age of 23 Andrew bought a £15 train ticket from Victoria to Alicante and has been flying and motor cycling backwards and forwards between Somerset and Spain ever since. In between visits he ran a sign writing business in England. He now lives in the Alpujarras in Andalucia and helps English speaking visitors relate to the local culture.

Alice Barnsdale

Alice Barnsdale

Alice first travelled to Morocco in 2001 where, on top of a Saharan sand dune, she met her future husband, Ali who is now also an Authentic Adventures tour manager. Alice loves to learn new languages and since moving to Morocco she has learnt Moroccan Arabic to a standard that astonishes most locals. She has many years' experience as a tour manager.

Abdel Ali Ibnoua

Abdel Ali Ibnoua

For Ali there is no better combination than to share his enthusiasm and knowledge while travelling the sands, mountains and coasts of his beloved Morocco with visitors from all over the world. He is married to Alice and lives with their two dogs and cat in the 13th century house that they lovingly restored in the heart of the ancient city of Fez.
