David has been a full-time painter for over 25 years. Currently the President of
the Royal Watercolour Society, he is an inveterate traveller and author of the sell
out book "A vision of China" which contains over 200 of his paintings derived from
his long experience of exploring China.
For David the act of looking and seeing is more important than the accumulation
of painters' tricks. He believes labels like abstract or representational are limiting
and he's constantly trying different approaches to keep his own painting fresh.
He's keen to share this journey of discovery with guests and fellow painters.
He likes to travel with a camera which he uses not just as an aide memoir but as
a looking tool.
David believes it is never too late to start painting and drawing and encourages
people to have a go "When you create, you have to risk being bad."
