You will stay in two Jetwing Hotels which are upmarket, luxury beachfront establishments, while others are high quality heritage hotels, each with their own distinct style.
Where we stay
Our photography guests will take a fabulous journey across the south of the island staying in three authentic locations.
Jetwing Lagoon Hotel, Negombo (one night)Located next to the tranquil Negombo Lagoon, the Jetwing Lagoon is an elegant hotel which has the distinct privilege of being a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. It also has considerable historical significance as it is the first resort to have been built by the legendary architect Geoffrey Bawa. This is absolute beachfront luxury with fabulous service, immaculate rooms, delicious food, luxury spa, swimming pool and beautiful gardens.
Aliya Resort, Sigiriya (three nights)Aliya Resort & Spa nestles in lush, green rolling hills far from the hustle and bustle of city life. A great place to unwind after a busy day exploring Sigiriya. ‘Aliya’, translates as ‘elephant’ in Sinhala, and you can spot them throughout the hotel. You will be stunned by the incredible views of the ancient rock formations of Sigiriya and Pidurangala Rock Temple. Sit on manicured lawns, or swim in the infinity pool with this breathtaking view before you.
Earls Regency, Kandy (three nights)The Earls Regency is the ideal five-star luxury hotel from which to explore the attractions of Kandy. Situated next to the river and surrounded by hills, it is an oasis of calm where you can retreat after a busy day. Enjoy the beautifully manicured gardens that surround the hotel and take an evening (or early morning) dip in the swimming pool!
Grand Hotel, Nuwara Eliya (three nights)Colonial splendour still reigns at the Grand Hotel. It was once the palatial residence of Sir Edward Barnes, the governor of Sri Lanka, then Ceylon in the 1820s, and has a solid reputation for being an elegant hotel with a rich heritage. Relax on manicured lawns and enjoy an evening cocktail, followed by a delicious supper in refined surroundings. It has been updated to a high standard, and is very close to the city centre.
Jetwing Lighthouse, Galle (three nights)On the edge of the former Dutch Colonial town of Galle stands the Jetwing Lighthouse hotel, a testament to the iconic work of the Sri Lankan architect, Geoffrey Bawa. The hotel exudes an old world charm, yet is modern and minimalist in design. It has been selected as part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and has incredible views across the ocean, where you can enjoy a drink at sunset. All the facilities you would expect of a luxury hotel are here.
