Painting & Walking Holidays in Ischia, Italy

Ischia – the green island

Ischia is a volcanic island – the largest of all the islands in the Bay of Naples – and is reached by a short ferry ride from Naples, only nineteen miles away. Relatively small, four by six miles in diameter, the most popular spot on the island is Castello Aragonese with magnificent views of the bay. The island has always been popular for it’s natural hot springs, volcanic mud and thermal water – even the Greeks and Romans loved it! Alongside the beautiful crystal clear bays, white sandy beaches and lovely views, there are 440 acres of vineyards planted on the island. The vines thrive on the volcanic soil and sunshine. On our holidays, you will have the chance to visit the vineyard and sample the wines. For fans of Elizabeth Taylor, you may be interested to know that Cleopatra was filmed on the island! Taylor and Burton were big fans of the Ischia film festival.
