Cuba • Havana & TrinidadHavana and Trinidad Havana is Cuba's main city, facing Florida. The legacy of the Spanish colonial era is seen everywhere in the colonnaded Spanish squares with handsome architecture. At night Havana is vibrant and lively. With its pastel houses and winding cobbled side streets, Trinidad oozes charm and is perfect for exploring by foot. Doorways lead to a leafy courtyard which may house a museum or a bar where you can sip a cocktail while a talented band plays. Surrounded by sugar producing valleys and ranches, Trinidad also has white sandy beaches lined with palm trees.
Where we stay
A two-centre holiday, based in Havana and Trinidad, we stay in two hotels.
We make great efforts to choose hotels that offer authenticity, quality, service, and proximity to our locations. However, we would ask guests to recognise that these holidays are magical because of the places we visit and occasionally, on such adventures, the accommodation will not come up to the standards of Northern Europe.
Hotel Parque Central, Havana
Located right on Havana's main central square next to the old town, this 5* hotel is famed for its cocktail bar and there is a swimming pool on the rooftop terrace. Breakfasts are sumptuous and service is excellent. There are safety deposit boxes, hairdryers, TVs and superb bathrooms.
Hotel Las Cuevas, Trinidad
This friendly government run 3* hotel comprises a series of bungalows on the hillside overlooking Trinidad from where it is an easy 20 minute downhill stroll to the centre of town. Thanks to the position, there are gentle breezes and distant views of the sea. The rooms are simply furnished, but they all have pleasant verandas and there is a nice swimming pool. All the rooms have private en-suite bathrooms, TVs, bedside lights, and safety deposit boxes (additional cost).
